Air leaks in the rafters of the Federal Minister

Need for air-tightness level, rafters

per Code of insulation in roof and wall - - published by the National Federation of Roofing Trades Association of roof, wall, and sealing technology in September 2004, the following requirements apply:

3.2. Diffusion

3.2.1 General
(1) may not occur by diffusion in the thermally insulated to a harmful component of condensate in the risk by increasing the moisture content of the insulation and the stability of structural design or to pest infestation out.
(2) Evidence that diffusion does not result in damaging condensate water occurs by diffusion calculation according to DIN 4108-3. In this mathematical proof may be waived as provided in Sections 3.2.2 and 3.2.3 requirements.

3.2.2 roofs
(...)
(3) For the following non-ventilated roofs may be no need for a mathematical proof:
a) Non-ventilated roofs with roofing
(...)
- Non-ventilated roofs non-ventilated roof covering and roof covering a space side and a room-side vapor barrier sd, i ≥ 100 m below the insulation layer.
(4) The effectiveness of non-ventilated, insulated roofs with a vapor barrier with a sd, i \u0026lt;100 m and diffusion-proof layer on the outside can be detected. Thereof should be made in the outer layers with sd egg ≥ 100 m only in exceptional cases, as trapped moisture may have penetrated or later, for example, structural moisture through leaks or increased only poorly or not at all dry.

The connections of the room-side vapor barrier in accordance with the requirements of DIN 4108 Part 3 out professionally.
